What is Up!

Well, it's late and I don't feel like sleeping just yet. I guess I am experiencing a little anxiety about school beginning. I guess I talk about my hair since that seems to be the biggest change in life lately.
I have spent too much money on trying to find products that is best for our hair. Right now we are using Mane and Tail shampoo and conditioner. I also made a mixture of olive oil, avocado oil, grapeseed oil, lavender oil, lemongrass oil and water which provides a ton of lasting moisture. Of course the water settles at the bottom (it smells of lavendar and lemongrass) and the oils float on the top. I like that because most times I don't need the oil, so I spray the scented water on my hair so I can make it easier to style. Anywhoo, when I do need the oil, I just shake it up and spray. I also use Miss Jessie's Curly Pudding, gosh it is so expensive. I found that Cantu Sheabutter Leave-in Conditioner has the same effect as the curly pudding, but it has massive buildup and I can't use it with the oil mixture. It does not mix at all with oil! The one time I did use both items, I had to rewash due to gunk (ewww).
My hair is really growing, I can actually pull it up and back to form a puff ball. I really cannot wait until it really grows out.
On youtube and other blogs many people state that we (black people) really don't know what our hair is capable of being. At first, I did not understand. All I remember as a young girl was getting my hair washed, my mom platting it into ponytails to dry and then getting it hotcombed (falling asleep, slobbing and getting burned -lol). However, now I see that I have different textures of hair and a natural curl pattern (truly defined curly locks). I thought it was the products I was using, but I see the curl pattern after I wash. The trick to keeping the curly locks is to keep it moisturized and to trim the dead ends. The back does much better than the front, it seems to hold moisture longer than the front. The front, omg, I have to make sure the moisturizer goes on thick, if not, I get that fro!
My daughter, I place her hair in two strand twists. They are really cute, especially when I take it down. It resembles a straw set. I wish I could do it to my hair, but it takes practice and the hairdresser costs too much. Well enough about hair, I will blog later.
